Mini Hendrix

Nanny & Papa came over today and brought with them a present. I may come to dislike this gift in the future but for tonight it was fun.

Hmmm...how exactly does this go?

Got it!

Tuning up for the big performance...

(sorry for the darkness of the video, I need to work on the camera settings!)

That's it for tonight, folks. Hope you enjoyed the show!

Spur of the moment

Jonathon got up this morning and decided we were going to Savannah. There was a dry cleaning convention he was interested in attending and he said "Why not?"

Why not, you ask? Well, it wasn't on the schedule! What about Griffin's nap? How long will we be gone?

If you know me at all you know that I am nothing if not a Planner. I'm not comfortable with just getting up and going. I need to know beforehand and get myself used to the idea that this is what we're doing and when and how we are doing it. Marrying somebody like Jonathon turned that planning part of me upside down. Jonathon has never made (and followed!) a plan in all of his life and that's one of the reasons I love him. In the interest of adventure I agreed. And what followed was a fabulous time in Savannah.

(last names & locations edited out for safety)

The convention was okay but the real fun was walking downtown on the river and letting Griffin out of his cage stroller to play. Note to readers: strolling on cobblestones isn't the easiest. (Yay for Daddy's!)

Griffin got to throw his first ever coin into a fountain. I don't know what his wish was but I can reveal to you that mine had something to do with diapers and getting rid of them soon.

"Spontaneity is the quality of being able to do something just because you feel like it at the moment, of trusting your instincts, of taking yourself by surprise and snatching from the clutches of your well-organized routine a bit of unscheduled pleasure." Richard Iannelli

Singalong

Griffin has this new thing where he wants to sing but doesn't know the words so he mouths what he thinks they are. It's similar to the character in the Police Academy movies. Case in point:

He then proceeds to act like a famous person wary of the paparazzi. "No camera, no camera!" And horror of horrors, my child is beginning to hate having his picture/video taken. Any suggestions for that?

Playdate with Emma!

Griffin's friend Emma came over to play today and boy was it nice to have another girl in the house! Griffin is a pretty rough and tumble boy but there's something about Emma that makes him more gentle around her. It's quite sweet.

Since Classic Cleaners was getting some concrete work done we thought it would be neat to put Griffin's handprints in the cement. I didn't get a great picture of the finished product but I couldn't not put it up! (Click to enlarge.)

Here we go!

A dear friend of ours (Hi Deanna!) has a blog that I stalkerishly check all the time. I enjoy her blog about Kate and Gabe so much that I thought it may be fun to post our weekly (monthly?) goings on. There's something neat about having a record to look back on and also to sharing it with family and friends.

I'm going to start out going backwards and record our summer happenings. Bear with me while I get the hang of all of it.

I look forward to sharing pictures and silly Griffin stories with all of you.

A day at the pool

After church and lunch we headed to our favorite spot--the pool! Aunt Erica came with us and we had a good time with the camera.

This one made me a little nervous!

Happy 4th!!

Between being in the parade, visiting family and a cookout with friends we had a busy Independence Day! Today marked Classic Cleaners debut into the community. We got some promising feedback from several of the parade go-ers telling us we can't open soon enough. Here are some pictures of Classic Cleaners award winning (okay, we got an honorable mention) float. Massive thanks to the Floyd family who thought up, designed and created the whole shabang. We love you guys.
